Subject: 20953/Deed-TransfSunnySideToSignalCtrs Date: Fri, 19 Nov 1993 09:13:43 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 20953 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO EXECUTE A DEED TRANSFERRING THE FORMER SUNNYSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING TO SIGNAL CENTERS, INC., A NONPROFIT CHARITABLE CORPORATION, FOR CONTINUED USE AS A SCHOOL FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the City of Chattanooga has requested the City of Chattanooga to declare the former Sunnyside Elementary School as surplus property and to transfer ownership of said school building to Signal Centers, Inc., a United Cerebral Palsy agency which is occupying the site, for continued operation as a school for persons with disabilities; and WHEREAS, Signal Centers, Inc. has made significant improvements to said property; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chattanooga deems it in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Chattanooga and the community as a whole to transfer ownership of said property to Signal Centers, Inc. in order that the operation of a school for persons with disabilities might continue; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor and the City Finance Officer be and are hereby authorized to execute a deed to the 0C former Sunnyside Elementary School building from the City of Chattanooga to Signal Centers, Inc., a nonprofit charitable corporation.
